Primary school Dr. Janský No.2 Žiar nad Hronom is participating into the project Comenius School Partnerships (multilateral) which is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
In this project, which is coordinated by a School in Finland, participate in Schools from 6 countries:

We are going to plan 5 project meetings:

Our first project meeting - Kassel, Germany
24-27.9.2009
The Worshop called “Biodiversity” was organized in Germany (Fundatal) near the town Kassel. Two teachers from our School, Mgr. S.Bistová and PaedDr. Z.Rosenbergová, took part in this workshop.
There were pedagogical and ecological experts. We promoted the topic biodiversity of fauna and flora. There was a rich discussion. We could saw the practical lesson with using CLIL method. We informed all participants about our campaign about CO2. The Scientist from the Harvard University introduced us the EOL website http://www.eol.org/. We registrated on it.
We visited the nature school Wasserhause-the centre of environmental education. Students and pupils use to visit this centre. They raise their nature awaraness by searching the nature and scientist experiments.
After the implementation of this workshop, its coordinators with other participants has created the guide of the ESD schola. Our school has shared our experience in this guide too.

Our third project-Anglesola, Spain
14.-20.4.2010
We visited Anglesola in Spain in order to meet our School Partners for third time. There were three teachers: Mgr. S. Bistová, PaedDr. V. Hrončeková, PaedDr. Z. Rosenbergova with 6 students (Z. Slaštanova, S. Šupova, L. Toth, R. Rosenbergova, S. Frindt, M. Hoang Trang). We shared our eco-activities for grabbing criterias for ESD. Our strongest points were to separate rubbish, CO2 campaign, „Beagle“ project and the project in this country. All our activities were recorded by Windows Movie Maker and our pupils presented those videos in English.
At the project meeting we prepared three short films with the following criterias:
- Area of teaching-learning approach short films about Fair Trade
- Area of School policy and planning-short film Eco-activities.
- Area of School climate-short film Acid rain
In the framework of this meeting, we presented some cultural and other elements of our country (Slovakia) as an invitation to visit us and discover more about our cultural heritage. The story that pupils presented was about the life of our National hero, Juraj Janosik. Also, it worths mentioning that our School wants to help other children and we support the ethiopy girl Birtukam Lemma Kassa.
The fourth project meeting –Žiar nad Hronom, Slovakia
10.-14.11.2010
Our School ZŠ Dr. Janský no.2 had the responsibility to organize the fourth project from September 2010. It was our first time that we had to host sucha n interesting meeting in our School. At this project we visited the Town Council, where the Mayor Mgr. Ivan Černaj and the Supervisor for Education, Mgr. Marta Mergova were waiting to discuss with the participants.
Each School presented two films in which there were two ESD criterias. Primary School Dr. Janský no 2 shared our experience from the planting day. The event belongs to the ENO’s programe and among other there was a short film with eco-activities for the younger pupils.
The fifth project meeting-Oulu,Finland
16.-20.3.2011
Our last project meeting was organized by the Finish Coordinator School in Oulu. 5 teachers and 10 pupils participated in this project. We prepared another two films about energy under the title „Fusion - the energy of future“ and the Christmas concert. During our meeting we did the feedback of our application. We compared the results of the questionnaires at the beginning and at the end of all stages of the project. The questionnaire examined their position to the environment. In our opinion the weakness point of our project was reading and implementing the activities. Our final project DVD will be helpful for other Schools.Each School have to send its mini DVD to our Coordinator School.They combinate them to create a final DVD.
