What is the project Comenius?

The Comenius is a programme established by the European Union aimed at  bringing students and teachers in different European countries togethr. The group is from 4-19 as well as teachers with extensive experience in their teaching subject. It is named after the educationist Comenius.

School Ppartnerships

The aim of Comenius School Partnerships is to raise students’ awareness about the European Union, to promote the cooperation among other european schools. The project offer both teachers and students the opportunity to work together, to improve foreign languages and to study foreign languages. The School Partnerschips always last 2 years.

We can divide Comenius School Partnerships into the following two categories:
           Comenius Multilateral Projects (minimum 3 schools from 3 coutries which are participated into LLP)
           Comenius Bilateral Projects - the aim of the project is to have students’ mobilities (2 schools from 2 countries which are participated into LLP)

Comenius aims to:
           Improve and increase the mobility of pupils and educational staff across the EU;
           Enhance and increase partnerships between schools in different EU Member States, with at least 3 million pupils taking part in joint educational activities by 2010;
           Encourage language learning, innovative ICT-based content, services and better teaching techniques and practices;
           Enhance the quality and European dimension of teacher training;
           Improve pedagogical approaches and school management.

The programme is currently focusing in particular on:
           Motivation for learning and learning-to-learn skills;
           Key competences: improving language learning; greater literacy; making science more attractive; supporting entrepreneurship; and reinforcing creativity and innovation;
           Digital educational content and services;
           School management;
           Addressing socio-economic disadvantages and reducing early school leaving;
           Participation in sports;
           Teaching diverse groups of pupils;
           Early and pre-primary learning.
